Things are starting to heat up as Jon Jones prepares to end his three-year hiatus at UFC 285. The former light heavyweight champion will make his highly anticipated heavyweight debut on March 4 against Ciryl Gane. Jones vacated his belt while on his hiatus. Fortunately, he is walking back into another title shot. Furthermore, if Jones can get his hand raised at the T-Mobile Arena next weekend, he will make history again as he captures the heavyweight gold.

Jones vs. Gane will also serve to clean up the mess that former champion Francis Ngannou left. ‘The Predator’ left the promotion after failed negotiations with the company. The Cameroonian also lost his title in the process. His unchecked reign in the division is likely to loom over the new champion who will take the throne at UFC 285.

However, Jones had nothing but good things to say about the former champion. Speaking of Ngannou’s exit, Jones voiced his support for him, claiming he was also in a similar situation. Having had his own share of issues with salary, Jones appreciated Ngannou for knowing his worth.

Now, the former champion has come forward with an explanation for his sudden change in tone.
