Just a while back, UFC women’s pound for pound rankings list was revealed. Now the men’s P4P list has garnered the attention of the fighters as well as the audience. Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman occupies the first rank. He is followed by Alexander Volkanovski, Israel Adesanya, Francis Ngannou, and Charles Oliveira, respectively.

While all these fighters surely deserve to be high up on the list, fans are not happy with a few fighters mentioned on the list. UFC legend Jon Jones being on the P4P list irked a few fans. This is because he hasn’t fought in a long time. However, the fighter is still a part of the promotion.
New rankings are out.

Moreover, many pointed out that Max Holloway was put above Dustin Poirier, despite the fighter defeating Holloway twice before. Further, bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling was not a part of the list. Instead, Petr Yan held the ninth rank.
Since Sterling is the only champion not mentioned on the list, it would be interesting to know his thoughts on the current rankings. ‘Funk Master’ last fought at UFC 259 against Petr Yan. The Russian fighter was disqualified for throwing an illegal knee. As a result, Sterling became the new champion. However, Yan holds the interim belt. So a bout between Sterling and Yan would be a huge one for the bantamweight division.

UFC women’s pound-for-pound list
The women’s P4P list has Valentina Shevchenko in the first rank. She is followed by Amanda Nunes, Rose Namajunas, Julianna Peña, and Zhang Weili. There wasn’t much difference between the new and old list, apart from Amanda Nunes moving up to the second position and Namajunas going down to the third rank.

So while the women’s P4P list didn’t create many disagreements, the new men’s P4P list did just that.
It would be interesting to know what the fighters think about this P4P ranking list. Do you think Aljamain Sterling should have also been on the list? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
