UFC 270 taking place on January 22 will be the UFC’s first PPV event for 2022. It has two highly anticipated title bouts: Francis Ngannou versus Ciryl Gane and Brandon Moreno versus Deiveson Figueiredo. Unfortunately, one main card bout has been called off. Rodolfo Vieira was supposed to face Wellington Turman. But this bout will no longer happen.

Vieira, who has an 8-1-0 MMA record, pulled out because of undisclosed reasons, according to MMA Fighting. A fighter pulling out at such a crucial stage of the event makes things difficult for the promotion. The UFC will have to elevate a match-up to the pay-per-view part of the event.
Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN Deportes took to Twitter to break the news of the canceled bout. He wrote, “Per sources: Rodolfo Vieira is OUT due to medical reasons. Morales vs Giles now moved to #UFC 270 main card”.

So now it looks like Michael Morales versus Trevin Giles will be a part of the main event. However, the promotion is yet to announce the canceled fight as well as which matchup will find its way to the PPV part of the event.
UFC 270 will happen at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The event has some of the most eye-catching fights. Thus, despite a cancellation, fans have great wars in the ring to look ahead for.

More about Rodolfo Vieira
‘The Black Belt Hunter’ has lost just one bout in his professional MMA career. His most recent win was against Dustin Stoltzfus. The Brazilian won the fight by submitting his opponent through a rear-naked choke. So after such a spectacular win, it would have been great to see him back in the octagon and bag another win.

While the bout is off, MMA Fighting has revealed that Turman will receive his show money. It would be great if the UFC could re-book this fight to be a part of the other upcoming events. After all, fans would want to see their favorite fighters clash with some of the best fighters from their division.
