Ovince Saint Preux faced a scratchy loss against Jamahal Hill on December 6th, 2020. The UFC veteran clashed against ‘Sweet Dreams’ in a 3-round scrap.

Preux survived the first round; however, he was knocked out in the second round of the fight with a strong jab to the head. The 38-year-old believes his injury before the fight could be a reason for his weak performance.

Recently in an interview with Mike Heck of MMA Fighting, Preux talked about an injury that he faced before the fight. He said,Just a week before the fight, I had to take a quick trip to the emergency room, my back locked up on me it was bad.

“I thought I was good weight cut was going good even when I was cutting weight. Then after the cut was getting more and more. I got down to 200 seven and a half like I told my coach I was done.

“I’ve never really dealt with anything like this before. I got the treatment that I needed. My body started feeling good. I was thinking about it was like why did I just went back and just jump right back into doing something else instead of actually probably taking another week or two weeks for treatment.

“I did nothing until I got to vegas so basically four or five days. Now that I am feeling good I think I can do it, I think I can do it. And they said things happen, it is what it is you learn.”

Even though ‘OSP’ has been with the promotion for a long time, he appeared to be slow in his previous bouts. Whereas, Bozer, even after few losses, seems to give a hard time to his opponent. The latter also has a 50lbs weight advantage.

Although it doesn’t appear to be an easy matchup for Preux, he might change the game with his hard kicks to stop the Canadian fighter.
