According to the former UFC champion’s attorney, Renee Hessling, she agrees with the fact that some form of compensation, but the victims are asking for $1 million.

As such, Velasquez’s attorney has decided to file a legal claim against it. “The victims in this case are seeking an exorbitant amount of money. The defense’s position is that it’s unreasonable, so we do intend on litigating this,” Cain Velasquez’s attorney told the judge. “I think there is definitely restitution owed by Mr. Velasquez. However, there are some claims that he owes money for their daycare, and they are asking for $1 million on that end. That is certainly something we are litigating.”

The victim is making ‘ridiculous’ demands to Cain Velasquez, fans claim

Yes, “ridiculous” is the word fans have used to describe the $1 million demands from the victim’s side. While Cain Velasquez has made his fair share of money fighting inside the Octagon, asking the man to pay a million dollars is just out of the question because a 7-figure sum is not that easy to earn. In that regard, a fan commented, “F— no go make your own $1 million” on Instagram.

Then again, another fan reminded everyone that Velasquez was already paying the price by getting ordered to spend five years in prison. “He owes them nothing; they owe him and his family everything they have and more,” he stated, claiming that the 42-year-old has suffered enough legal repercussions. In all the noise that this legal situation has made, some people have shown empathy to Velasquez’s son, who fans believe is more of a victim than the person who got shot. “Only victim is that child they harmed,” an Instagram user added.
