The viral incident at the 94th Academy Awards completely shook the world. Hollywood A-lister Will Smith and veteran comedian-actor Chris Rock got involved in an altercation. The attack produced great repercussions as both fans and comedians took to the internet to share their thoughts. The MMA community also provided their thoughts on the matter and it looks like Paige VanZant really got inspired by Denzel Washington’s message to Will Smith.

Right after the altercation took place, Washington was the first person to approach Smith. The veteran actor shared a message of peace. He even pulled Smith aside and offered his words of wisdom to comfort him and his wife Jada.

According to a report by TMZ, the actor refused to reveal the exact words that he shared with both Chris Rock and Will Smith. However, he indeed stated that he asked both actors to calm themselves down and advised them to pray. Former UFC fighter ’12 Gauge’ also shared a quote from the actor on her Instagram story, drawing inspiration from him.

The quote read, “You’ll never be criticized by someone, who is doing more than you… You will only be criticized by a person who is doing less, don’t forget that.”

VanZant has been dealing with her fair share of demons as the retired mixed martial artist is on a losing skid. Her move away from MMA to bare-knuckle boxing may have enabled her to make great strides financially, but her transition hasn’t been so smooth.

She has failed to produce a win in BKFC and has seen her professional fight losing streak extend to three.
