Pannie Kianzad Says She Wants the Title Fight if She Defeats Miesha Tate and Aspen Ladd

UFC women’s bantamweight fighter Pannie Kianzad’s fight against Raquel Pennington was a frustrating one for the fighter. Her loss not only broke her winning streak, but the fighter also felt that the fight was boring. However, Pannie Kianzad is optimistic about her future.

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, she named the fighters whom she wanted to next face. According to ‘Banzai’, a bout against Miesha Tate is only natural, considering that there aren’t many options left in the division. Tate also recently declined a fight against Aspen Ladd. Hence, Kianzad called out Tate for a bout.

She said, “We both lost to Rocky [Raquel Pennington] right? And I mean, if you look at the ranking, there is nobody left than me and her that’s not injured, been pregnant, or pregnant waiting to deliver, injured, or already matched. So if you look at it, I mean, why not? And she just said no to Aspen Ladd. So I’m not seeing that many choices for her either. “

The fighter further said that after facing Tate, she also wants to fight Ladd. She further revealed that she expects to fight for the title after facing both these tough fighters.

“I want a title fight after the Aspen fight. When I went over Meisha and Aspen, I want the title fight. It’s no other way… If Peña can get a title fight over one win, I mean, I could get these wins and I could go for a title run.”

Kianzad also mentioned that she has called out Miesha Tate twice. Hence, it would be interesting to see if Tate responds.

Will Pannie Kianzad and Miesha Tate’s bout happen?

Kianzad has done her share of the work by calling out ‘Cupcake‘. Now, the ball is in Tate’s court. After her comeback in 2021, she has lost and won one bout each.

Tate has already clarified that she wants to get back the title and become the champion. So a fight against Kianzad would surely be a good idea. Further, both the fighters seem to want to fight in March 2022. Thus, this could be one interesting bout.
