Belal Muhammad‘s recent tweet says that Dana White and Colby Covington give him Paul Heyman–Brock Lesnar vibes. Ever since Covington appeared for the UFC 286 weigh-in as a backup for the main event, Muhammad has been lashing out at both Covington and White through his social media handles. ‘Remember the Name’ believes that he is being treated unfairly in the promotion, as he believes he deserves a title shot. The 34-year-old with a record of 22 victories and 3 losses has already proven that he is a great fighter. Nonetheless, he claims that he does not receive the respect and recognition he deserves. 

Muhammad is currently on an eight-fight winning streak with a no-contest bout in between and is undoubtedly having the best time of his career. However, according to the UFC president, ‘Chaos’ currently deserves a title shot more than anyone in the welterweight division. Covington currently stands at 17 victories and three losses. Among his last four fights, he lost two, both of which were for the title. Hence, the other welterweights, including the WW champion, Leon Edwards, feel that Covington does not deserve to fight for a title.

When Muhammad came across a tweet that explained why Covington does not deserve a title bout, he decided to react to the tweet. It said, “Thats why we need competent media. They couldnt articulate why Colby doesnt deserve the shot to Dana smh – Belal, He’s 2-2 in his last, Those wins are Masvidal/Woodley both coming off two losses, Out of his last 4 fights, two were title fights.1 win over the whole top 15.” As a reply to the tweet, ‘Remember The Name’, wrote “I’m getting real Paul Heyman – Brock lesnar vibes when he’s trying to sell why colby deserves it.“

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are one such promoter-fighter duo that has captured the attention of many. Heyman was Lesnar’s mouthpiece and boosted his career with his persuading words.

The two benefited a lot from each other. Similarly, Muhammad feels that White and Covington are benefiting from each other and that some sort of conspiracy is going on. 

White wants Covington to fight no matter what

He finds it difficult to accept why White strongly wanted to give Covington a title shot. Moreover, the UFC boss is evidently trying to convince the media and fans that Covington deserves an opportunity. During the post-fight press conference of UFC on ESPN 43, Dana White declared that Edwards has to fight Covington.

He added that it was his duty as a champion. The UFC community now needs to wait to find out if ‘Chaos’ will get to fight Edwards for a title shot.
