Paulo Costa Calls Out Robert Whittaker, Snubbing Khamzat Chimaev for UFC 298 Fight in February

Paulo Costa has been eager to fight ever since his scheduled bout with Khamzat Chimaev was canceled at UFC 294. Since then, Costa has consistently called out Chimaev for a fight, but there has been little response from Chimaev. The middleweight division is packed with prominent fights in the coming months, and interestingly, Costa has now snubbed Chimaev.

Borrachinna seems frustrated with his constant callouts directed towards Chimaev. Since there has been no response, it’s natural that Costa is feeling dejected. However, the fighter has now called out another prominent fighter and even provided the date of his return. Let’s delve into understanding this perspective.

Paulo Costa has now called out Robert Whittaker for a fight. Costa took to hi X(Formerly Twitter) handle to issue a challenge to Whittaker to fight in February. Costa in that tweet added that Whittaker is looking for a fight and he is ready to take on Whittaker’s challenge.

After his initial tweet, the Brazilian again took to his X handle to add a screenshot of Whittaker’s Instagram handle where Whittaker was demanding a challenge from UFC. Whittaker’s Instagram post was captioned, “Getting that Icth. Just need a date”. With Costa challenging Whittaker, there’s a high chance that their fight might happen.

However, it must be noted that Paulo Costa has snubbed more fights than he fought in the last 3 years. He canceled his court against Khamzat CHimaev and even Robert Whittaker in the past. So we should take their words with a pinch of salt.
