She posted a picture with a bloodied face stating, “Dark places bring out the best in me. I’ve had worse losses than this in life. Orbital broken in the 1st round and people count me out. I know what I’m capable of. I’m a fighter, no matter what they say. Thank you to all who still believe in me. I feel it.

Cynthia Calvillo‘s career is on a downward slope after her most recent defeat. She currently has a 9-4-1 (Wins-Losses-Draws) record under her belt with two knockout wins and three submission wins in her 14 match career. The American fighter started her pro-MMA career with an impressive 6 win streak, with 3 being in the UFC. She has also changed her camps from Team Alpha Male to American Kickboxing Academy. The orthodox fighter is well versed in grappling and takedowns.

She has suffered many severe injuries in her MMA career, but has always bounced back. As of now, she is recovering from an eye injury after her recent matchup. She explained on Instagram that her orbital (referring to the bony socket in the eye) was broken. Currently in recovery mood, her dream of becoming the UFC champion is at a halt with no set news of who she will fight next available next.
