Sean O’Malley is one of the most popular fighters in the UFC roster right now. His sense of humor and his attitude, combined with his fighting ability, have helped him become a fan favorite. The 27-year-old has been putting up some outstanding fights and is considered to be one of the best knockout artists in the UFC right now. The fighter currently stands 12th in the UFC’s bantamweight rankings.
His current professional record stands at 15 wins and only one loss. 11 out of his 15 wins have been via knockout. The only loss O’Malley has suffered was via knockout as well. At UFC 252, O’Malley took on Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera and got knocked out in the first round of the bout.
During the initial half of the bout, O’Malley seemed to have the upper hand and landed some damaging leg kicks. But then he suffered a knee injury during the fight, which Chito took advantage of. This loss kind of derailed the O’Malley hype train, but he has put on some spectacular performances since his loss at UFC 252.

‘Sugar’ recently spoke about his mindset after his first loss in his recent podcast.
Sean said, “My fight after Chito, it’s like I could have thought two ways. Like I was excited to go and showcase my skills. I wasn’t thinking, oh god I hope my leg holds up. I was excited to go and show people like that’s not you can’t just kick my leg once in my life.”
He added,” So, like going into that fight, I was excited to showcase my skills. I was excited to fight a good high-level kickboxer in Thomas Almeida and show that, that’s not what works. You can’t just kick my leg, so like my mindset going into that Thomas Almeida fight, I was just excited to go and prove that a bunch of people are fu*king stupid.”
