“People Call Me…” Arnold Allen Reveals He’s Forced to Be Silenced on Islam Makhachev Fight Controversy as He Makes Alexander Volkanovski Statement
It would be difficult for many UFC fans to forget the electrifying bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Islam Makhachev at UFC 284. When the two fighters came face-to-face, they took the fans to the edge of their seats. It was hard to predict who would win the bout among the two lightweight and featherweight champions, but many believed that Volkanovski would become the double champion. The bout was a back-and-forth battle between the two champions. By the end of the fifth round, the Australian crowd cheered for their homeboy, thinking that the victory was his.
However, it disappointed a few fans and MMA fighters when Makhachev’s hands were raised after the five-round bout. It was a very close affair between Makhachev and ‘The Great’, but the three judges scored 48–47, 48–47, and 49–46 in favor of Makhachev. In addition, the UFC featherweight, Arnold Allen, recently talked about the bout between Makhachev and Volkanovski that was held on February 11.

Ahead of UFC on ESPN 44, Arnold Allen talked to the press. ‘Almighty’ is all set to face Max Holloway on April 16. In the video uploaded by The MacLife, Allen talked about his opinion on the controversial bout between Volkanovski and Makhachev. Allen said, “I thought Volkanovski did great. I thought he would do what he did, but he did better than I expected, you know. I thought he would put a good show in.”

He continued, “I don’t know, maybe I’ll change my opinion.” Almighty makes it clear that he was left with no choice but to stay silent as people called him a racist for taking the side of Volkanovski.
The future bouts of the champions

At the moment, the dust from the bout is settled, but the result of the fight is still a topic of contention. Now, Volkanovski will be facing Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290 on July 8, 2023. While Islam Makhachev has no opponent lined up. As per UFC legend Chael Sonnen, the bout between Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush at UFC 288 would decide who Makhachev would fight next. After the bout, it is expected that Makhachev would square off against the winner of UFC 288 at UFC 294. The fans need to wait longer to find out if Volkanovski would emerge victorious in his next bout.
