“People Said I Was Crazy”- Anderson Silva Squashes Haters in an Inspiring Message

Anderson Silva is undoubtedly a legend in the MMA world. The Brazilian has been around for over two decades and has given fight fans some amazing fights when he was at the UFC. He is well-known for his lightning-fast and powerful striking abilities, as well as his remarkable fight IQ. Looking back on his spectacular career and record, Silva is undeniably one of the finest fighters that the UFC has ever seen.

As of November 2021, ‘The Spider’ holds the record for the longest title reign in the UFC. Silva has defended his title 16 times in the octagon, against some of the best fighters in the sport. Throughout his career as a mixed martial artist, Silva has fought over 46 fights. Out of which he has won 34 fights and lost only 11. Silva has given fight fans some of the best sights with his incredible knockouts during his prime days in the promotion. 

Many critics questioned Anderson Silva’s career since he lost so many battles near the end of his MMA career. However, after leaving the UFC, Silva has already found tremendous success as a boxer. Recently, ‘the Spider’ took to his Instagram account and sent out an inspirational message to his fans, and also his doubters.

“Short after my last MMA fight I heard in the media from a certain someone that somebody my age should not be fighting and that it was a mistake that I was put to fight. One month after I received an offer to fight in a boxing match in Mexico against a former champion 10 years younger then me, people said I was crazy and I couldn’t do it, and it was something impossible for me. But when your self-belief is strong, you are dedicated, and the love for what you do is greater then any opinion, the impossible is simply routine.  Always believe in yourself. – Spider,” he wrote.

What’s next for Anderson Silva?

Looking at Anderson Silva’s boxing form right now, it’s safe to say he’s in great shape. Silva has won both of his fights this year. He won a split decision over Julio César Chávez Jr. and by a knockout over Tito Ortiz.

Silva is now 3-1 in his professional career as a boxer and is looking to increase his record. His current form at 46 years of age is terrific. The internet celebrity turned boxer, Jake Paul, could be a perfect opponent for ‘The Spider.’ 

Former UFC fighter, Junior dos Santos could also be next for Anderson Silva. Dos Santos recently hinted at a boxing debut and Silva could be a perfect opponent to start with.
