UFC head honcho Dana White has frequently spoken about how his friendships with notable figures like Joe Rogan and Donald Trump have supported him throughout his journey, particularly in transforming the organization from a modest promotion into a global powerhouse valued at approximately $12 billion. One prominent illustration of these relationships is his long-standing bond with boxing legend Mike Tyson.

The UFC CEO has recently expressed his exasperation with Mike Tyson’s tendency to accept fights despite his age. As a result, he decided to cast Tyson on a reality show. White spoke about their camaraderie while appearing on “The Odd Pockets with RGIII” on YouTube, recalling a time when he invited ‘Iron’ to appear on the Discovery TV show “Shark Week.”

White stated, “He went on Shark Week, and the day he had to get in the water with the sharks, he was like, ‘I’m going to beat the sh*t out of the whole crew.’ People were terrified that day because he was freaking out. He said, ‘Yeah, Dana’s my friend. This as*hole sets me up on Shark Week. I’ve been fighting my whole life. I’ve got no problem fighting another man, but this as*hole wants to throw me in the water with sharks.”

With Mike Tyson’s upcoming bout against Jake Paul on the horizon, Dana White was initially against this questionable matchup. However, he has now acknowledged it and continues to support his friend Tyson.

Dana White Recognizes Mike Tyson’s Star Power

Dana White and Jake Paul have had a contentious relationship from the outset, with their feud originating from pay scale disputes that Paul raised regarding UFC fighters. This conflict escalated over time, making headlines in mainstream media. Recently, during an interview on the YMH Studios YouTube channel, the host, aware of the history between Paul and Tyson, fired a question at White: “Do you think this Tyson fight will draw big numbers because of him?”

Without wasting any time, White responded, “Yeah, listen, he’s been very strategic in his career, making sure he handpicks the right guys. If this one actually happens, Tyson’s the Golden Goose.” White further dismissed the stardom of his arch-nemesis, asserting that it’s Tyson who truly sells Jake Paul’s pay-per-views.

What are your thoughts on Dana White’s remark? Do you believe that White really sent his friend into the middle of the sharks, or do you think Tyson jumped into the fray? Or is White just fluffing? Drop your opinion below.
