Performance of the Half Year 2021: Jiri Prochazka Destroys Dominick Reyes with a Slick Spinning Elbow

Jiri Prochazka is one of the breakout stars of 2021 and his performance against Dominick Reyes is the reason why. ‘Denisa’ headlined UFC Fight Night on May 1 against Reyes and put on a show that fans will remember for a long time. Jiri Prochazka earned his second straight KO win the organization that night and became a recognizable figure.

The fight itself was a back-and-forth war for as long as it lasted with Reyes landing some heavy blows. However, Jiri Prochazka added to his 89% knockout rate as he landed a spinning back elbow that put Reyes to sleep. The finishing move came against the cage after Reyes had backed up and his elbow came out of nowhere.

When the fight was announced, fans had earmarked the scrap to be a potential ‘Fight of the Year’ candidate. It delivered in more ways than one as the entire MMA world couldn’t get enough of the 28-3 KO artist. Not to mention, the entire UFC promotional machine got behind his hype from the beginning with aggressive promotion in the lead-up to the fight.

Dominick Reyes has already proven that he’s tough as nails and isn’t someone to be taken lightly. However, Prochazka walked him down with reckless abandon and didn’t seem to be in too much danger at any point. The damage he was inflicting on Reyes was astounding and he’s shown that he’s a possible future champion.
