The UFC bantamweight champion, Petr Yan, would have taken on the number 1 bantamweight contender, Aljamain Sterling at UFC 256. But, for some visa and travel-related issues, champion Yan had to pull out of the fight. This would have been Yan’s first title defense after bagging the UFC gold in July.
Recently, Henry Cejudo, engaged in a war of words with Yan, for pulling out of his fight.
Prior to Cejudo, Yan responded to Cody Garbrandt for his remarks on him, which later caught Triple C’s attention, and he joined the fray. ‘The Messenger’ wrote, “Can’t wait till you lose to flavor flave stunt double @funkmasterMMA you #rentachamp keep polishing my belt baby”.

‘No Mercy’ issued a warning to Henry Cejudo and labeled him a ‘twitter warrior’. Yan looked desperate to touch gloves with him. This seems the inception of another rivalry between top-notch athletes of the sport. Fans would always be on board with this fight, but the big question will be whether Cejudo will end his retirement to fight for a belt he has already won.

He is undefeated in the UFC and has jumped to the top in no time. To establish his supremacy, Yan will look forward to defending his title against sturdy opponents like Cejudo.
