When Conor McGregor became the first-ever simultaneous two-division champion, that, for most fighters, became the pinnacle of success in the UFC. So far, only four fighters have been able to achieve that. Now, now it seems like Aljamain Sterling has a similar plan mapped out after he’s done with his UFC 292 fight against ‘Suga’.

Sterling said, “[I will] send that naked mole rat back to wherever he’s from that, the hole he crawled out of.” It seems things are starting to heat up between O’Malley and the reigning bantamweight champion. They are two of the most exciting fighters on the roster and fans are expecting a lot of action from their UFC 292 headliner. However, that’s not the end of Sterling’s plans. He wants to challenge for yet another title.

Aljamain Sterling plans to join Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Henry Cejudo. He wants to join the few fighters to hold two championships simultaneously. Sterling has his eyes set on Alexander Volkanovski, who’s been on a tremendous run as the featherweight champion. ‘Funk Master’ said, “We set our sights on Volkanovski. Go up there to 145, cause some terror [and] win the belt.”

Moreover, Sterling also laid out his plans for what happens after he becomes a double champion. He is thinking of one of two defenses with the featherweight title and then finally bidding adieu to his MMA career. “From there, possibly defend one or two times and that’s maybe all she wrote for the MMA career,” said the reigning bantamweight champion.

It seems like Sterling’s UFC 292 fight against Sean O’Malley could be his last bantamweight fight. The champion looks confident of defeating ‘Suga’ and moving on to bigger and better things in his MMA career. ‘Funk Master’ even revealed his impressive physique ahead of the fight. However, the question regarding his plans, if he loses, remains unanswered. We will have to wait till 19 August to find that out.
