“Please Retire. U Suck”: Equaling Ronda Rousey’s UFC Record, Mayra Bueno Silva Beats Holly Holm via Submission As Fans Call for Veteran’s Retirement at UFC Vegas 77

The main event at UFC Vegas 77 was what the entire world was waiting for. The fight between the American warrior, Holly Holm and the Brazilian fighter, Mayra Bueno Silva, was nothing short of a spectacle. However, the #10 bantamweight fighter, ‘Sheetara’ claimed victory over ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ with a phenomenal submission in the second round.

The fight began with the former UFC bantamweight champion patiently examining her opponent. Holm’s game plan was clearly one where she controlled the entire fight. As soon as the first round commenced, the fighters engaged in a short exchange of blows. Soon after, Holm pushed Silva back against the fence and entered a clinch. They separated, but Holm wasn’t ready to let her opponent have it easy. She went on and had the first round to herself.

However, the second round didn’t go in favor of the former champion. The second round began with a few strikes. But Holm wanted to enter the realm of grappling. Little did she know that the underdog might be powerful as well.

Soon after Holm attempted a takedown, the Brazilian took hold of her opponent’s neck and went for a ninja choke. She was quick to modify the hold and showed off her prowess. Silva grabbed Holm in a standing guillotine choke and surprised the entire world. Holm had no choice but to tap out and let Silva aim for a fight against Julianna Pena for a shot at the title.

With this breathtaking performance, ‘Sheetara’ entered the top fighters in the bantamweight division of women’s mixed martial arts column. While the world of MMA was rooting for Holm’s victory, the fight was, in fact, a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Most of the fans believed that ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ should simply opt for retirement.

However, some of the fans also saw that it would be bad way to retire.

The fans claimed that the #3 bantamweight rank holder wasn’t ready for the fight.

Another fan dissed the fighter’s plan of pushing her opponents against the fence.

Nevertheless, the fight fans didn’t fail to recognize one of the rarest and beautifully executed submissions in the history of UFC. They expressed their amazement at the hold.

MMA reporter, Aaron Bronsteter reported that Silva is now in a tie with Ronda Rousey for claiming most victories by submission in the women’s bantamweight division.

It was a fight that caught the entire world by surprise. With Silva moving ahead to achieve a potential title shot, the women’s bantamweight division is finally getting a fresh new face.
