Islam Makhachev does not and will not care who stands against him. His next fight was quite recently modified at the last minute after Charles Oliveira pulled out due to a gruesome injury. However, it doesn’t look like the move did anything to stagger Makhachev’s mindset.

Recently, Dana White read out a message from Makhachev to the world. His statement makes it pretty clear that Makhachev will try and run over anyone who challenges him. His new opponent, ‘The Great‘ has been more of a threat to Makhachev than anyone else in the past couple of years. So what does Makhachev have to say?

Islam Makhachev stands fearless against Volkanovski card change

Makhachev is currently the reigning lightweight champion. His fight against Oliveira was going to be a rematch where ‘Do Bronx’ could have reclaimed the title he lost a year ago. However, with a massive cut on his head, that’s far from happening. Now, Alexander Volkanovski has stepped in to replace him.

To talk about the recent card changes among other things, Dana White appeared on an interview with Patrick McAfee. McAfee is an analyst who had some interesting questions for White. It was then that White revealed Makhachev’s private message that he found inspiring.

“What does this title represent?” White read Makhachev’s message from his phone. “It means you’re the best in the world. And if you’re the best in the world, it doesn’t matter who’s gonna be standing across from you. What do I say? No? Never. Let’s do this.”

Clearly, the fighter does not care about the last time he met Volkanovski in the cage. The fight was very close and some people still consider Volkanovski the winner. Makhachev won via decision and he now has a chance to prove himself once again. The fight is still happening and the fighters seem more than prepared.

What was Makhachev’s message to Oliveira after he pulled out?

Charles Oliveira’s pulling out was a shock to everyone except for his opponent. If Makhachev is to be believed, he was unsurprised that Oliveira pulled out. He felt that the fighter had nothing to give to him in the fight and that his own skill far exceeds that of Oliveiras.

Regardless, the fighter is now all set to face ‘The Great’ once again. The battle of the top fighters of two divisions ensues and fans couldn’t be more excited.
