“What’s happening in Ireland is a travesty. Our government is one of zero action and zero accountability,” said Conor McGregor after meeting with Donald Trump at the White House, where he was invited as a guest for St. Patrick’s Day. As ‘Mystic Mac’ addressed the Trump administration, he echoed his stance on immigration, condemning the Irish parliament for its incompetence. “Our money is being spent on overseas interests that have nothing to do with the Irish people. The illegal immigration racket is running rampant across the country.” But he didn’t stop there!

After meeting with Donald Trump, the former dual-weight world champion took time to meet several prominent figures within the Trump administration, including National Security Advisor Michael Waltz. Sharing photos with Waltz on his timeline, Conor McGregor expressed his gratitude for the breakfast and the signed copy of Waltz’s book, “Hard Truths.” In addition, ‘Mystic Mac’ also had the honor of presenting a signed “Make Ireland Great Again” cap to White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt.

As McGregor made his statement, he shook the very foundation of Ireland politics that even the Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Micheál Martin had to come forward to issue a statement that quoted that ‘Mystic Mac’ words have undermined the importance of St Patrick Day, “St Patrick’s Day around the world is a day rooted in community, humanity, friendship, and fellowship. Conor McGregor’s remarks are wrong and do not reflect the spirit of St Patrick’s Day, or the views of the people of Ireland.” 

McGregor has been one of the loudest critics of the Irish administration due to their troubled immigration policy. The former dual-weight champion has been vocal against the administration since the anti-immigration riots in 2022, and it seems that ‘The Notorious’ has found his calling in politics at the White House.

Well, Taoiseach is not the only high-profile Irish politician who took control of the situation. The Tánaiste (Irish deputy prime minister), Simon Harris, also came forward to state that McGregor doesn’t represent the entire Irish state and was in the Oval Office in his own personal capacity. “He doesn’t speak for Ireland. He doesn’t speak for the people of Ireland. He has no mandate to do such,” Harris said to reporters in New York. As tremors have been shaking the Irish throne, McGregor didn’t stop there as after all of these statements, it was just customary for him to bite back.

“Ireland needs an active President employed wholly by the people of Ireland. It is me. I am the only logical choice. 2025 is upcoming,” Conor McGregor declared last year, calling out to the Irish administration. Well, a year later, 2025 has been going well for the former UFC champ, and it seems he may be ready to make a move into Irish politics.

After the comments from the Irish Prime Minister, Conor McGregor was asked about it, and in his statement, he went ballistic on them, saying, “Shame on him for saying that, for speaking down on an Irish man. I won’t speak about him personally, or throw a jab—I could, I could throw many jabs at him, I could throw jobs handily at them—however, I speak on the metrics, and the metrics show they have failed the people of Ireland.”

As he walked away from the camera, Conor McGregor added, “God bless Ireland, God bless America.” What will be its implication after McGregor once he goes back to Ireland?
