Holly Holm beat Yana Santos via unanimous decision in their bout at UFC San Antonio. Holm and Santos faced each other in the co-main event of UFC San Antonio and went the full three rounds. Holm put herself back into the win column with the performance over the Russian.

Both 41-year-old Holm and 33-year-old Yana Santos came into the fight with a 3-2 record in their last five. Co-incidentally, both the fighters had lost their previous bouts and were trying to avoid a losing skid.

Holm and Santos started off the fight strong. Both fighters gave their best in the first round as they matched each other on the feet and on the ground. However, Holm took over in the second round, landing shots on the feet and taking Santos down. She finished the round on top, dominating Santos and almost getting a finish.

It did not take Holm long in the final round to resume where she left off. She took Santos down again and kept looking for submissions. She stayed busy in top control landing strikes. There were no further surprises as Holm dominated the final round and earned a unanimous decision win. The scorecards read 30-27, 30-26, and 30-27 in favor of ‘The Preacher’s Daughter.’

In her post-fight speech, Holm had one message: “Protect the children.” UFC star Michael Chandler whole-heartedly supported the message while congratulating her on the win.
