Shared by a popular Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu page on Instagram, a post revealed that Diaz was recently promoted to blue belt.

Interestingly, for fans who are unaware, Joey Diaz has been practicing the sport for quite some time now. And his promotion to blue belt is actually the second time it has happened.

Diaz reportedly demoted himself to white belt

Although there is no disclosure on this earlier promotion to blue belt made by Diaz himself, a fan in the comment section did point it out. Responding to someone who claimed that the 60-year-old was a blue belt already, this fan claimed that Diaz had demoted himself.

Well, if this is indeed true, it only shows his passion for the sport. Because demoting oneself to a white belt is something that is quite unheard of in any sport.
