Alex Pereira is never one to back down from a challenge. The reigning UFC light heavyweight champion has set his sights on one of the biggest names in MMA history—Jon Jones. Pereira, a former middleweight champion-turned-dominant force at 205 pounds, has made it clear that he’s willing to step up and fight the UFC heavyweight king. His striking prowess and fearless approach make him a nightmare for any opponent, but a showdown with Jones would be the ultimate test of his skills, according to a UFC legend.

Alex Pereira opens up about his condition for fighting Jon Jones

“I love the position I’m in right now. Fighting Pereira for the ‘BMF’ belt would be cool,”, said Jon Jones before his showdown with Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. While Jones has shown interest in a potential fight with the reigning light heavyweight champion, how does Alex Pereira feel about it? As it turns out, Pereira is more than willing to take on the heavyweight king. However, there’s an interesting twist to these discussions. According to Pereira, he is ready to take on anyone the UFC wants him to fight.

While speaking to Helwani he said,  “I’ll fight anybody at heavyweight. But I’m the champion, and Jon Jones is the champion. If Aspinall was the champion, I’d want to fight him”. During his chat with Joe Rogan, Alex Pereira shared that he naturally carries heavyweight size, usually walking around at 230 pounds. With that in mind, he expressed his eagerness to compete in the heavyweight division and test himself against the best. Pereira further added, “He can be a risk, and I can be a risk. If I am the champ, I want to fight the champ. So, let’s make the fight with Jones—that’s the fight I want for heavyweight.”

Will the fight between the two really happen? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
