‘Real Recognize Real’- Brandon Moreno Opens Up On His Friendship with UFC Superstar Nate Diaz

UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno spoke to Helen Yee and pulled back the curtain on his relationship with Nate Diaz. ‘The Assassin Baby’ received mainstream acclaim when he became the first Mexican-born UFC champion. Moreno stole the show at UFC 263 when he choked out Deiveson Figueiredo and won over a large section of the MMA community.

Furthermore, Brandon Moreno struck up a rather unlikely friendship when he was on stage at the UFC 263 Press conference. Stockton’s second son, Nate Diaz and Brandon Moreno hit it off and the fans couldn’t get enough of their alliance. Moreno was seen sporting Nate Diaz’s merchandise during his interview and he commented on his friendship with Diaz.

“Some friend gave me ‘Represent’ [merchandise], gave him a package for me. And I opened and saw Nate Diaz in the press conference before the fight and I said man, thanks so much for the clothes, amazing quality, amazing brand.”

“The guy started be very nice with me and the people can think it’s weird cause Nate Diaz is real but he’s a gangster, he’s a bad guy and Brandon Moreno is real, but he’s a nice guy, a nice dude. But you know what, real recognize real, that’s it.”

Brandon Moreno: A breakout star

Following his win over Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 263, fans couldn’t help but wonder what Moreno’s ceiling was. ‘Deus de Guerra’ is a formidable force in the cage and has a charming personality outside of it.

He’s managed to captivate fans with his affable personality and the UFC potentially has a breakout star on their hands. Not to mention, the organization has been looking to break into the Mexican market and Moreno might be the man to do just that.

However, a lot rides on his next couple of title defenses which are sure to be against elite opposition. The flyweight division is full of dangerous contenders and Moreno is sure to be tested against the very best. However, if his current streak is anything to go off from, he’s sure to make a stellar impact.
