“Recently Loses and Jumps Straight Back”- UFC Legend Hails Canelo Alvarez After Massive Fight Announcement

Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping recently took to Twitter to praise the Mexican boxing phenomenon, Saul Canelo Alvarez. Alvarez recently suffered a shocking loss to the Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol on the 7th of May.

After losing his World Boxing Association light heavyweight world title, Alvarez accepted another fight against Gennady Golovkin which will take place in September.

Bisping took to Twitter and praised the Mexican boxing champion for losing a fight so recently and accepting a fight right after. Bisping wrote, “Gotta respect the work ethic of Canelo. Recently loses and jumps straight back into another massive fight.”

Canelo’s soon-to-be opponent, Gennady Golovkin, is one of his biggest rivals in the fight business. The two have faced each once before, back in 2017 and 2018. Their first fight on the 16th of September 2017 was a draw via split decision and their second bout on the 15th of September 2018 was a win for the Mexican.

The ‘GGG‘ trilogy bout will be the second time Canelo is competing this year and the fifth time he is competing since 2021. This trilogy bout is guaranteed to be a nail-biter, judging from the last two bouts the boxers had against each other. Knowing the history behind the fight, it is sure to be a hit amongst fight fans already.

Michael Bisping is one of the MMA community’s most famous analysts. The former fighter is also a commentator for the promotion and is present at almost every UFC fight.

In a recent video he uploaded on his YouTube channel, Bisping gave his take on Ketlen Vieira’s win over Holly Holm at UFC Vegas 55. This is undoubtedly one of the most controversial fights of the promotion in recent times, as many feel Holm won the fight, but the Brazilian walked away with the split decision win.

According to statistics and the majority of the MMA community, Holm should have won the fight, as she landed more strikes.

Bisping claimed that according to him, the decision went the right way. He said,” I might be in a very very small minority but I thought Ketlen Vieira won that fight.”
