“Ref Didn’t Pass the Vibe Check” – Fans Bummed at Referee Who Disqualified High-School Wrestlers for ‘Funny’ Prank

It is hard for anyone to laugh during an intense wrestling match. When two people are initiating violence against their opponent with all their might, there is nothing humorous. However, it’s getting difficult for people not to laugh after watching a wrestling match between two young boys.

The video of these two young boys pulling a prank during their wrestling match made the entire internet laugh. However, the humorous exchange was halted by the referee. The referee disqualified the kids for their fun-loving antics during a serious professional match. Nonetheless, the fans were quite furious at the referee’s inability to gauge the kids having fun.

Anyone who watches the video will undoubtedly love the prank. However, being in the position of a referee, it’s quite hard to appreciate a prank pulled out by two young boys in between a match. The referee’s decision to disqualify the two garnered the attention of many. The social media users blamed the referee for being rude to kids. Nonetheless, fans had different perspectives, few took the side of the referee and claimed that the boys deserved to be disqualified for not taking their match seriously.

The National Football League is quite notorious for fans having issues with the official’s decisions. The fans are mostly unhappy with the decisions taken by the referees during the matches. Hence, a fan pulled a joke from the NFL context.

Another fan referred to famous anime characters “Saitama” and “Goku.” They both are beloved characters for anime fans. Additionally, Saitama and Goku are popular for their ability to defeat powerful opponents.

Another fan simply stated how it was a cool wrestling act put up by the kids.

“Man let kids be kids. That was cool Ref. What? you have a bad day. To The kids, that was funny. Be safe everyone”

However, while everyone was blaming the referee, one fan pointed out the kids’ mistakes. According to him, as two athletes, it is their duty to give the utmost importance to their match rather than focusing on a prank.

Refereeing and judging decisions tend to be polarizing

When a match between two parties takes place, sometimes the fate of the match goes straight to the officials. There are numerous times when the decision taken turns out to be unacceptable for other athletes and fans.

The incident that took place in UFC 284 was something similar. The match between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski was such a close one that it went to a decision. When the judges declared Makhachev the winner, there was an uproar among the audience and fellow fighters. This is indeed one of the most conflicting—or, rather, complicated—parts of a combat sports match.
