Nick Diaz returned to the octagon after a six-year-long hiatus. He went up against his former opponent, Robbie Lawler, in a highly anticipated rematch. It was a non-title five-round gruesome scrap and fans cheered Diaz throughout the fight. However, the fan-favorite is clearly past his prime.

Diaz suffered a third-round stoppage in the fight. Many fans and the MMA community took to social media to express their views on the fight and his performance. One of them was the former two-division champion, Conor McGregor.

While sharing his views on the fight, ‘The Notorious’ took a divisive dig at the Diaz brothers. He compared their boxing and claimed Nick to be a better boxer than Nate. He wrote, “Nate your boxing is piss compare to nicks. We been fed garbage with your sloppy shots the last few years. Can see the clear difference between the two brothers after last night. Balance, composure. Another level the big bro is on to you. I made you.”

However, this comparison didn’t sit well with Nick Diaz’s younger brother and McGregor’s rival, Nate Diaz. The latter quickly responded to McGregor’s tweet with a witty reply. He wrote, “U can’t fight at all member your leg?”

Despite a loss in his comeback fight, Nick Diaz will go down as a legend in the sport. Meanwhile, his brother Nate is still active in the UFC, and will surely look to take on McGregor for the third time. Combat fans can expect a blockbuster trilogy fight once the Irishman recovers from his leg injury..

Nate Diaz vs Conor McGregor 3: Will It Happen

Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor have been at odds with each other for a long time. Both the men have crossed paths inside the octagon twice. The Stockton native secured a knockout win against ‘The Notorious’ at UFC 196. However, the Irishman was quick to avenge his loss and defeated Nate in the rematch at UFC 202.

Their clash inside the cage has always entertained the MMA community, and the fans were expecting a trilogy to settle the score. Unfortunately, the Stockton native took a hiatus from the sport. The 36-year-old returned to action in 2019 and has a record of 1-2 in his last three fights.

Meanwhile, ‘The Notorious’ is also on a two-fight skid. Both men will now look to get back in the win column and considering their heated rivalry, a trilogy fight seems to be a logical option. Also, the fight will undoubtedly create a lot of buzz amongst combat sports fans, guaranteeing pay-per-view success. Hence, this trilogy fight might come to fruition, allowing the two to put an end to this longstanding rivalry, once and for all.
