Ian Garry is out of the hospital and now, he’s out for blood. The Irish star had to pull out of his UFC 296 bout after a sudden diagnosis of pneumonia caught him by surprise. Now, it looks like he’s all healed up as he reacts to his nemesis Sean Strickland losing to Dricus Du Plessis.

That’s right, it has barely been 24 hours since ‘Tarzan’ fought off Du Plessis to retain his middleweight title and came up a bit too short. Du Plessis is the new and first South African middleweight champion of the world. And the smile on Ian Garry’s face couldn’t be brighter.

Ian Garry was overjoyed by Strickland’s loss

The loss came via a split decision. Sean Strickland certainly put up a great fight against the South African bruiser. He fought with a cut around his eye that bled out through his vision too. However, in the end, all the effort was not enough for the American.

Now, Garry has reacted to the whole thing. He uploaded a video of him checking out the highlights of the fight which is to indicate that he didn’t watch the whole fight on his own. He watched it laughing and sending down hateful messages for the now, former champion.

“… I hope Sean gets sparked unconscious,” said Garry. “There is no way I ever would have bet against Du Plessis losing this fight considering he mauled Robert Whittaker and Sean Strickland isn’t half the fighter Robert Whittaker is.”

Clearly, the wounds are still fresh. Sean Strickland brought in the whole MMA community when he started trash-talking Garry and commenting about his wife Layla Machado Garry for having written a book called “How to Be a WAG.” The smell of bad blood doesn’t fade away quickly.

Will Garry fight Strickland?

Soon after Garry threatened to sue Strickland for his demeaning rants, he uploaded a video. Here, he told his fans that he’d love to go up to middleweight and take down Strickland for the belt. Now, that’s far from happening but the intent of a welterweight to go up to middleweight just out of spite is interesting to watch.

“I feel like I’m watching two amateurs fight.” Garry laughed and taunted as he watched the match “If I ever have a fight like that, please tell me to retire. . . F*ck you Sean Strickland” he celebrated as Strickland’s loss was announced by Bruce Buffer. Ian Garry is clearly on Cloud 9 with the former champ’s loss.
