Despite many attempts to lure him back to the octagon, the former UFC lightweight champion has maintained his promise to his mother. However, the undefeated fighter recently revealed a name that makes him want to wear his gloves again for an MMA return.

This name is MMA royalty in the form of another MMA G.O.A.T.- Georges St-Pierre.

In a recent interview, Nurmagomedov said, “There’s no fighter that motivates me to return. But when I hear Georges St-Pierre’s name I want to go for a 10km run. So, you can throw any name Charles Oliveira too doesn’t motivate me.”

“Michael Chandler been knocked out a bunch of times. I’ve already run through Rafael dos Anjos, Justin Gaethje, Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. But Georges St-Pierre really motivates me.”

After retiring from professional fighting, ‘The Eagle’ is carrying his father’s torch. He trains his fellow teammates, cousins, and friends for their respective MMA careers.

A prominent name that trains under Nurmagomedov is the UFC lightweight fighter Islam Makhachev. The latter, who is in his best form with a ten-fight undefeated streak in the promotion, is on the brink of a title shot.
