In 1973, after a landmark legal ruling, the right to abortion was made legal across the US. This is referred to as the Roe vs Wade case. However, the US supreme court recently overturned this right. Several people criticized this decision by the court and one amongst them was veteran UFC color commentator Joe Rogan.

On his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, the host discusses multiple topics. Speaking about the Roe vs Wade overturn, Rogan said that the entire scenario freaks him out, and people have lost rights they never thought they would.

During a conversation with Duncan Trussell on episode #1839 of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan said, “This f*****g Roe vs Wade thing freaks me out…for so many reasons. First of all because, how many women need to get abortions because of the health of the child.

Speaking about rights, Rogan said, “Rights we never thought we were going to lose. There’s certain ways we looked at the world we like, well, we’ve passed that. The government’s control over us is not nearly what it was in the 80s or the 90s. We’ve moved past that. And then all of a sudden, especially during the pandemic, it’s almost like while you were sleeping, they’re just like gaining ground.”

While Rogan spoke his mind on the issue, he wasn’t the only one. Several fighters from the MMA community reacted to the court’s decision of overturning Roe vs Wade.

UFC fighters join Joe Rogan in reacting to Roe vs Wade getting overturned

Joe Rogan wasn’t the only one who reacted to Roe vs Wade being overturned. Several other UFC fighters joined Rogan and shed their views on the court’s verdict. UFC fighter Michael Chiesa on Twitter said that the overturning of the Roe vs Wade case is just an example of why people should pay attention while voting.

Another UFC fighter, Jeff Molina, uploaded a photo of himself and described it as a reaction of his when he came to know about Roe vs Wade’s case being overturned. In the photo, one could argue Molina looked shocked or puzzled.

UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling in his tweet hit out at Linda McMahon. Sterling tweeted, “Narrow-minded thinking. All situations aren’t the same. Luckily you never had to face those kinds of situations. Must be nice where you’re sitting, huh?”
