The ‘Mystic Mac’ recently took to his X account to share a heartfelt message for his fan, who recently lost his life to a battle with Sarcoma cancer. This remarkable amputee has often deemed McGregor to be the inspiration behind his fighting spirit, finding inspiration to fight after witnessing McGregor’s knockout of Chad Mendes at UFC 189. In a Twitter/X post, Richie McPeak’s family informed his followers about his passing. Only last week, McPeak had tweeted about his declining health and his decision to take a break from social media. The post also revealed that McPeak had been battling the disease for over nine years. A heartbroken McGregor responded to the tweet with heartfelt words, stating, “Absolutely gutted! Rest In Peace Richie! What a fighter this man was! Will remember you always! ❤️🙏”

In February, McGregor’s upcoming bout with Michael Chandler, his rival coach in season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter, was revealed. However, the delay in officially announcing the fight date appeared to be due to McGregor’s ongoing absence from the USADA testing pool. To be eligible to compete, fighters must be in the pool for a minimum of six months.

Despite rumors that the UFC might make an exception to the six-month notice rule for their starfighter, McGregor will not be participating in the December 16th PPV event. This was considered a blockbuster year-end return opportunity for McGregor.
