The English fighter, Molly McCann, is one of the most popular up-and-coming fighters in the women’s flyweight division of the UFC. The fighter rose to prominence after competing alongside and being best friends with the viral UFC sensation Paddy Pimblett. Her popularity skyrocketed following her spectacular knockout of Luana Carolina at UFC London earlier this year.

McCann grew up in Liverpool, England, and reps her roots when she steps into the octagon. In a recent tweet, Molly McCann reacted to the extreme sporting event of the Cheese Rolling, which takes place in Gloucester, England.

A user tagged Molly McCann on a post depicting the horrors of the traditional festival and asked why she wasn’t a part of it too. In response to that, she wrote, “Because scousers don’t support the monarchy .”

After a two-year hiatus due to COVID, they held the traditional event in full swing this past weekend. Cooper’s Hill hosted the event. The hill’s 1:2 gradient makes it one of Gloucestershire’s steepest slopes. To commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s 70-year reign, people participated in chasing ‘Jubilee Cheese,’ to keep up the tradition.

However, owing to the nature of the sport, many injuries were seen at the event. According to a report, 25 people were left injured at the event. An ambulance was also present at the scene in footage captured by multiple people.

Molly McCann is to return to UFC London once again!

‘Meatball Molly’ will fight in her home country again after her incredible spinning elbow knockout win at UFC London earlier this year. Molly McCann will face Hannah Goldy in a flyweight bout at UFC London on July 23. This will mark the promotion’s second trip to England’s capital this year, with the first one being a great success.

Her partner in crime and fellow Liverpool native, Paddy Pimblett, will return to action as well at the anticipated event. English fighter Darren Till win also returns to action in London and will take on the Swedish fighter Jack Hermansson. Curtis Blaydes and Tom Aspinall will headline the night in a heavyweight contest.
