Rob Font Becomes The Second UFC Fighter For Landing Most Number Of Significant Strikes

Rob Font recently secured a spectacular unanimous decision victory over Cody Garbrandt at UFC Vegas 27. In doing so, he came close to breaking the significant strike differential record in the UFC bantamweight division history.

Font dominated Garbrandt throughout the fight by landing several significant strikes. He landed a total no. of 176 significant strikes vs. Garbrandt’s 63 significant strikes. The significant strike differential between the pair was +113. It means that Font landed 113 more strikes as compared to Garbrandt’s total no. of strikes.

Font did not break the significant strike differential record in the bantamweight division. However, he earned the second spot in the record-holder’s list. 

A clash between Vaughan Lee and Nam Phan set the record for the significant strike differential in the bantamweight division. The fight took place at the UFC’s ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ China Finale. Lee set the record of a +118 significant strike differential by landing 142 significant strikes vs. Phan’s 24 strikes.

After his spectacular unanimous decision victory over Garbrandt, Font now holds the #3 spot in the UFC bantamweight division. He also holds the third spot for most wins in the UFC bantamweight division (9), tied with Pedro Munhoz.

The UFC’s brightest Rob Font for sure has had an illustrious MMA career in the UFC. Also, he is a fighter who has the potential to break the record and earn the no. 1 spot in the record holder’s list. It’s also safe to say that the #3 ranked bantamweight contender will probably be the next title challenger.
