The UFC fighters are facing combat challenges outside of the ring too! With UFC 295 turning out to be a massive hit, the incident that transpired around it has dampened much of the vibrance. A UFC bus containing fighters and some staff, which included former UFC Light Heavyweight champ Jamahal Hill, former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler, and UFC Bantamweight contender Cory Sandhagen, was attacked by pro-Palestinian supporters in New York.

The bus was halted by the protestors as they got violent. The protesters kept hitting the bus and even tried to get in. The group of miscreants went as far as mocking the UFC fighters once they knew who was inside. Agitated by the unwanted chaos, Jamahal Hill tried to exit the bus. However, manager Brian Butler kept the fighters and the tensions inside the bus in check. Robbie Lawler, however, had the most spine-chilling reaction.

Something is terrifying about Lawler and no fight fans would deny it. The recent incident further justified the narrative. On how Lawler reacted, Butler stated in an interview that he had one of the most ‘Robbie Lawler moments’. Lawler was heard saying, “Conserve your energy, conserve your energy. If these doors open, we’re going to need every ounce of it.” which is literally the most audacious thing to say in a situation like that.

Robbie Lawler later commented on the issue, stating, “If things escalated, we weren’t the ones in danger. They were.” The protestors are brave, if not to say the least, but maybe not the smartest.

One thing is certain, if the UFC fighters were able to get out, or the protesters were able to get in, there would’ve definitely been some casualties. The fans, however, had a lot to say.

Fans react to protestors attacking a UFC Bus

Butler praised the UFC security for being “on point” and handling the situation well as they called for backup. Fans took to social media as they were excited to hear Lawler’s reaction. And they undoubtedly believed that the 41-year-old meant what he said. Here’s what some of the comments said about the issue.

One fan commented, “Robbie is not in danger he is the danger he is the one who knocks.” Indeed, we all know how ferocious a fighter Lawler is.

Another gave a Walter White reference, “Dude in his Walter White phase”

This user criticized the motive of the agitation, “Was this with the fake toxic clout chasing protesters who mess up the real message of their protest by antagonizing people for no reason just to switch the story up and try to gain more clout off of it?” Well, surely, harassing people is not a good practice.

Another commented, “Imagine f*****g with a bus and then jamahal hill and robbie lawler step out to confront you.” Now that would be a fear-inducing moment indeed.

This user tried to narrate the vibe, “I’m taking his soul vibes on this one”

The ‘Ruthless’ was once the most feared man in the Welterweight division. Even though that time has passed and Lawler has aged, he is by no means an average Joe. A fighter like Lawler could put any normal pedestrian in the hospital without really breaking a sweat. Also, not to mention that there were two other high-level MMA fighters in Jamahal Hill and Cory Sandhagen.

The fighters displayed great character as they reacted rather calmly to the situation, obviously thanks to Brian Butler and the UFC staff and security. However, such situations are always unwanted and authorities must take strict actions to curb such nuisances.
