Robert Whittaker is preparing for the biggest match of his career right now. The New Zealand-born Australian fighter will fight for the UFC middleweight title at UFC 271. He will take on his rival, Israel Adesanya, in a rematch of UFC 243.

Both men last met when ‘The Reaper’ was the champion of the division. Adesanya came into that fight full of confidence and put on a clinic. He knocked the former champion in the second round to become the king of the division. However, Whittaker is confident going into this fight. In a recent interview, he was asked about how much more dangerous he is compared to the first fight. And his reply was nothing short of savage.

He said, “Mate, ask Gastelum. Ask Cannonier how much more dangerous I am. I’m a much more well-rounded fighter. More than anything, my headspace. I’m confident and comfortable with who I am and why I do things. To take the belt back would be a dream. That means I’ve won.”

The former champ has admitted that his ego got the better of him in the last fight. He also said that after the loss, he stepped away from the fighting game and didn’t know when he was going to come back.

He is now ready to challenge for the title again and is on a three-fight win streak. ‘Bobby Knuckles‘ will have to be at his absolute best to put a stop to Adesanya’s dominant title run.

Israel Adesanya is full of confidence before the Robert Whittaker rematch

Israel Adesanya has been unstoppable in the middleweight division. The former Glory middleweight champion made his UFC debut in 2018. He immediately made an impression on the MMA community. However, he proved himself to be the best middleweight in the promotion at UFC 243. ‘The Last Stylebender‘ put on a clinic against Whittaker in the main event and became the champion.

They both will meet again soon, and Whittaker looks better than ever going into the fight. People also believe that Adesanya might be a little complacent ahead of the rematch. But he clarified that wasn’t the case in a recent interview. He said, “That’s not been the case this time. It’s actually made me more motivated to do it again and do it more decisively, if that’s even possible. Which it is, I believe so.”
