According to Adesanya, they didn’t clinch during their previous fight. However, he hopes to show his clinching skills in their upcoming bout. He has successfully defended his title four times. But Whittaker is a tough opponent, and hence, Adesanya needs to be at his absolute best.

Speaking about how his friend helped him get strong, Adesanya said, “He got me really strong. You can ask any of my training partners. It’s one thing Rob’s going to be in shock. He’s going to be in for a rude awakening is when he feels because the first time, we didn’t clinch.”

“I hope to clinch with him this time because every they do it, they realize ‘oh, he’s a lot stronger than he, you know. They all say that and they think they know how strong I am. So they feel me, then they are like ‘oh sh*t'”, he added.
