Roman Dolidze has come up short twice inside the cage after making his debut back in 2016. His recent most defeat was in his last fight against Marvin Vettori. This bout took place in March of last year at UFC 286 and went to a decision. After their entertaining bout, Vettori was declared the winner via a unanimous decision. However, a loss against Vettori is not necessarily embarrassing. Not to mention, he has an opportunity to turn back around like he once had after his first defeat.

His first defeat came against Trevin Giles in March 2021 and that too by a unanimous decision. This was also his first career loss in MMA after going on an 8-fight undefeated streak. In any case, he took the loss on the chin and made a comeback by going on a stint. After the defeat, he built a four-fight win streak, including wins over Jack Hermansson and Kyle Daukaus.

In the past, the middleweight fighter has been defeated and made a great comeback. Hence, it would be safe to say that he can make history repeat itself with a win over the Dagestani-French native in the upcoming bout. That being said, let’s take a closer look at why Dolidze is making headlines in the MMA world outside of the cage.

Dolidze slams UFC contenders for trash talk

In the world of MMA, fighters usually get one up on each other by taking verbal jabs. However, Dolidze is not a fan of the same and finds it dreadful. According to him, this is nothing but an act to seek attention and not worthy of applause. In addition, he argues that he is not one of them and is glad about it.

In a recent interview, he stated, “If you look how they’re talking with each other, I’m very respectful [with] what I’m talking [about] and how I’m saying this,” he added, “But these guys are ready to say anything just for attention. And sometimes when I see them and if I didn’t like something they said before, then I’m saying, ‘Listen, now you see me. I’m in front of your face.'”
