Roman Kopylov is on a roll at the moment. He is on a 4-fight winning streak and defeated the likes of Josh Fremd and Claudio Ribeiro, just to name a few. However, his UFC career did not start with a bang, as he suffered a couple of losses. Let’s have a look at that.

As mentioned earlier, Roman Kopylov had a rocky start in Dana White‘s promotion. He made his debut in 2019 against Karl Roberson, who has a rather modest record, as an undefeated 6-0 fighter. However, Kopylov’s UFC debut resulted in his first-ever professional MMA defeat via a final-round submission from Roberson. Following that fight, the Russian fighter took a hiatus from fighting for almost two years.

When Roman Kopylov returned to action in 2021, he squared off against a fellow Russian fighter, Albert Duraev. This time, the fight went into the distance. However, Kopylov registered his second consecutive loss since joining the UFC via a unanimous decision. This certainly put doubt surrounding his position in the UFC, but he bounced back with four consecutive wins, and interestingly, his next opponent also has a similar record, to say the least.

Furthermore, he is also on a 4-fight winning streak and defeated fighters like Marc-Andre Barriault and Edmen Shahbazyan.
