Although known for her hot takes, Ronda Rousey’s recent comments about Joe Rogan have faced quite a backlash. Joe Rogan has witnessed every generation of UFC fighters since the promotion’s inception in 1993. He made his first appearance at a UFC event in 1997 as a backstage reporter, but became a full-fledged member of the broadcast team in 2002. For many people, including former fighters, Rogan is one of the biggest voices in MMA, but for Ronda Rousey, the 58-year-old is nothing more than a fan of the sport.

“He’s not an expert, he’s a fan with an audience,” Ronda Rousey told Bert Kreischer. “He’s never fought… [Taekwondo] is not fighting,” Ronda Rousey told Bert Kreischer. The comedian, who is a friend of Joe Rogan, laughed off ‘Rowdy’s comments, but one thing was for sure: things really became awkward when Rousey undermined the role the JRE host has played in advocating for the sport of MMA.

Ronda Rousey is ‘right’ about Joe Rogan, fans claim

Hearing Ronda Rousey downplay Joe Rogan and his opinion on MMA fights and fighters, one commented, “She’s right,” on Instagram, showing their support for the former UFC champion. Similarly, another fan agreed with her stance, but he did not look like he was expecting such a statement from Rousey. “She isn’t wrong, which is wild.” But why is Rousey right about Rogan? A user on Instagram answered that question.

There are a lot of MMA fighters, former and present, who share their opinions on fights and fighters on social media. According to a fan, their words hold value because someone like Rogan was never a professional in this field. “She’s right. He never fought. He competed. Those are two different things,” he wrote. Another Instagram user echoed that sentiment, but he also claims that Rogan has tricked his fans on the internet into believing what he says is right.

“Rhonda’s absolutely right. A Taekwondo/Karate hobbyist who enters a “Karate Kid” style tournament and wins a plastic trophy isn’t a real fighter, Joe has all of his audience and subservient comedy pals fooled,” he added. Another user chimed in on the comment, agreeing with that fact, but also urged fans to remember that MMA wasn’t really a fully accepted and developed sport at the time Joe Rogan entered the mix.

“MMA was a spectacle when Joe Rogan started commentating. Kick boxing was where most serious martial artists competed. Joe did fight. MMA has been around for like 5 minutes. Relax Rhonda.” But not all fans were against Joe Rogan; some had his back. Some fans took a jibe at Rousey for undermining Joe Rogan, given that she was never a complete MMA fighter, as she lacked in the striking department.

That fan wrote, “Taekwondo isn’t fighting” from a person with a base of judo and some of the worst striking ever is hilarious.” As previously alluded to, Ronda Rousey’s hot takes often polarize people. However, her comments about Joe Rogan, who’s always been one of her biggest supporters, have made fans dislike her even more. “Literally so intolerable. This is why every fan base hates her,” one fan added.

Well, everyone has their opinion, and Ronda Rousey just shared hers about Joe Rogan. Do you agree with the Hall of Famer? Drop your comments below.
