Rousey brought a lot of attention to women’s MMA and is regarded as one of the most vicious female MMA fighters on the planet. However, reporter Aaron Tru learned it the hard way while interviewing the American wrestler.
Back in 2015, ‘Rowdy’ had defeated many notable names with a stunning knockout in the UFC to defend her belt. Still, reporter Tru questioned Rousey’s strength during an interview.
“As a beginner who has never competed in Judo and who has a White belt on, I gotta be honest. I don’t think you have as much strength and can compete with a man. Even though I am a white belt,” said Tru.
His words were enough to spark up the then UFC champion. Rousey replied, “You know how to push my buttons. That was exactly how to get me to throw you.”
Following that, the Olympic medalist slammed him to the floor. As soon as Tru hit the ground, his facial expression changed, and he realized Rousey broke his ribs. While the fighter apologized, Tru lay on the ground in pain.
Why is Ronda Rousey one of the most feared MMA athletes?
‘Rowdy’, even before her debut in the UFC, was a known name in the MMA industry because of her undefeated run in Strikeforce. She won all her four Strikeforce bouts via a submission in the first round.
