Rousey’s professional record speaks for itself, as she was a dominant champion during her time in the UFC. In January 2016, it was revealed that Rousey would feature on the popular comedy show Saturday Night Life (SNL) as a host on January 23, 2016.

In doing this, Rousey became the first MMA fighter and the third female athlete in the 41 years of the show’s running to achieve this feat. The only two other female athletes who did it before her are – Nancy Kerrigan, a popular American figure skater, and famous tennis star Chris Evert. Pop star Selena Gomez also made her SNL debut alongside Rousey as the show’s musical guest.
