Ronda Rousey’s Husband Travis Browne Once Ripped Ex-Boyfriend Brendan Schaub for His Relentless Trash-Talk: “I Want Him To Feel…”

Trash-talking and feuds are as much part of the UFC as much as the actual fighting itself. And it goes without saying that those elements definitely contribute to making the fights more exciting for the fans. Recounting one such incident, we date back all the way to 2014 and revisit the feud between the heavyweights, Travis Browne and Brendan Schaub. Interestingly, their dispute had a rather unusual base. Moreover, it also involved Ronda Rousey, who plays a mutual link between the two fighters given her history with both of them. Although today, she’s happily married to Browne and gave birth to a child in 2021. However, the conflict between Browne and Schaub started when that relationship was on a nascent stage.
What ticked off this dispute between the two fighters was the fact that ahead of their bout, Travis Browne switched to a training camp where Ronda Rousey trained. Schaub, who dated ‘Rowdy’ for a brief period that year(2014), felt compelled to comment on this development. Upon doing so, he stated that Browne training in that camp, in fact, works in his favor.

The verbal war between Travis Browne and Brendan Schaub
As reported by Bleacher Report, Schaub said, “Obviously, I know Ronda very well, and I know that camp pretty well… I’m not going to go into detail, but I think it’s a great thing for me that he’s training there. I’ll put it like that. I think it’s a good thing for me.”

This statement didn’t sit well with the Hawaiian ‘Hapa’, who was quick to get back to the sender with a rather disparaging remark at the next available opportunity.
In his very next press conference, Brown reflected upon what Schaub had to say to him for joining Ronda Rousey‘s training camp. However, unlike Brendan Schaub, his words were nowhere near being subtle. Browne stated, “Honestly, I don’t want to knock him out… I want him to feel what it’s like to go three rounds with me. And I’ll tell you right now, this guy, a lot of people don’t rub me the wrong way, but opinions are like a**h**es, you need to keep them to yourself. That’s exactly what he needs to do.” And given this was prior to their encounter in the octagon, it served as a great anchor to build up the hype for the match, too.
Cut to their fight. When the two squared off in the octagon, the ‘Big Brown’ fell short against the ‘Hapa’ at UFC 181. Although, this victory appeared rather special to Browne, who posted a picture of the moment even after 2 years of its occurrence.

That ‘satisfied’ at the end certainly meant something for Travis Browne. After verbally schooling the person, taking him down in a fight ought to be a satisfying experience.
