Although her first flyweight fight did not turn out well, Rose Namajunas made a strong return to the winning column against Amanda Ribas earlier this year. The former two-time strawweight champion remains a fan favorite despite her recent skid and this weekend, she’s going to compete in her third 125-pound bout against Tracy Cortez in Denver.

While ‘Thug Rose’ will be hoping to get into title contention with a win, Cortez, too, has an opportunity to get into the title mix in the somewhat sparse division if she prevails over the former champion. Ahead of the bout, we take a look at her highest UFC paydays.

Rose Namajunas’s highest UFC payout

Rose Namajunas grew up in a challenging environment to become a successful MMA fighter. Owing to her tough upbringing and resilience, her friends nicknamed her ‘Thug Rose’, a moniker she uses to this day. A veritable martial arts prodigy, Namajunas started training martial arts at the age of five. By the age of nine, she had earned her poom (junior black belt) and subsequently went on to excel in various martial arts and even be a standout in school. Given this background, it was not surprising that she pursued martial arts professionally, starting off with Taekwondo.

She started training MMA in her late teens and made her professional debut in 2013 after a perfect 4-0 amateur record. Rose Namajunas went on to appear on season 20 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, and although she lost to Carla Esparza in the finals, she was signed to the UFC. But when she fought Esparza at UFC 274, she earned a reported total of more than $942,000 from that fight even though she lost the fight and her strawweight title. This was in fact her biggest UFC payout ever. But now, let us take a look at Namajunas’s total career earnings so far.

Namajunas’s career earnings and net worth

Rose Namajunas’ earnings have been impressive. While the data for all her fights were not available, for her UFC 261 title clash against Zhang Weili, Namajunas made $282,000 ($100,000 base pay, plus a $100,000 win bonus and $32,000 promotional compliance pay). For their UFC 268 rematch against the same opponent, she made a significant amount, although the exact figure is not available.

‘Thug Rose’s last fight against Manon Fiorot at UFC Fight Night 226 in September last year netted her $11,000 (base pay, no win bonus) since she was no longer champion. Over the course of her successful career, Namajunas has earned not just titles and adoration from the fans, but also significant earnings and has a respectable net worth of reportedly $2 million, according to ‘The Sports  Daily’, and is in the upper echelon as far as UFC fighters are concerned.
