Jan Blachowicz hints at descending to Middleweight to fight Israel Adesanya

Understandably, after Israel Adesanya’s reclaim of his Middleweight title at UFC 287. He has become the target of a lot of fighters. Apart from the Middleweights, Adesanya is also attracting fighters from higher-weight classes. Recently, the noted UFC Light Heavyweight, Jan Blachowicz, made a similar iteration.

In an interview with Peter Carroll, the former Light Heavyweight kingpin stated that he could definitely cut down to the Middleweight limit of 185 lbs if the UFC offered him to fight ‘The Last Stylebender’. Blachowicz also said, “If UFC would like to make this fight, I would do it, no problem. I will do it, it will be great motivation for me. I am ready for doing that.”

Julianna Pena revealed Amanda Nunes might face consequences if she refused a bout with her

The noted former UFC women’s Bantamweight champ, Julianna Pena, had been eyeing a trilogy bout against the current UFC Bantamweight queen, Amanda Nunes, for a long time. After losing her Bantamweight title to Nunes in their rematch at UFC 277, it was evident that Pena felt that she and her rivalry with Nunes both deserved a trilogy bout. However, ‘The Lioness’ Nunes was more interested in fighting another contender, Irene Aldana.

But, the UFC was probably in Pena’s favor regarding this issue after it was heard that a Nunes vs Pena bout will be featured at UFC 289. Recently, Pena appeared on the noted podcast, ‘The MMA Hour’ and justified her trilogy bout with Nunes, and praised the UFC for their drastic decision. She stated, “I don’t know how Irene comes up in this conversation at all. We’re 1-1. This is the biggest women’s MMA fight in history. It’s a Rocky story.”

While talking about the UFC, she stated, “I think the UFC knows that. I think the UFC knows that they know how to do business, they know how to do big business and make big fights. It’s the only fight that I called for.” Pena also revealed that Nunes might be stripped of her title as well if she refuses this bout.
