The top-ranked UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier is currently the no. 1 pick as the title challenger. Although, the UFC is yet to announce an official fight date and venue for his fight against the current UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira. 

Regardless, the ‘Diamond’ goes through intense workout sessions to prepare himself for the big day. Moreover, he is the type of fighter who will work hard even if he doesn’t get a title shot in his next fight.

As Poirier always hits the gym to keep his body fit; he has a magnificent physique. In a recent post on his official Twitter handle, the ‘Diamond’ shared an image showing off his incredible physique.

He captioned the Tweet – “Rumble young man rumble.”

Can Dustin Poirier defeat Charles Oliveira?

Poirier has a spectacular professional MMA record of 28-6 (1 NC). He is one of the few fighters who is good at both standing and down on the ground. As a result, 75% of his victories have come in this manner. The ‘Diamond’ has claimed a total no. of 21 finishes, from which 14 have come via T/KO and 7 via submission.

Meanwhile, the current UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is 31-8 (1 NC) in his professional MMA career. He currently sits at the tenth position in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings. ‘Do Bronx’ also holds the record for having the most finishes in the UFC history (17).

Both fighters have faced several elite fighters in their career. Win or lose, Poirier and Oliveira both get better after every fight. As a result, it won’t be an effortless task for the ‘Diamond’ to dethrone the champ. 

However, Oliveira hasn’t yet been tested in the championship rounds. ‘Do Bronx’ has never gone past three rounds in his entire professional MMA career. Meanwhile, Poirier excels in a long-drawn battle. If the fight goes past three rounds, the ‘Diamond’ has a better chance of winning the title.
