What’s the biggest ‘What If ‘in the history of UFC? Many fans would agree that they wished to see the aftermath of one of the most heated press conferences ever. The fight between America’s Tony Ferguson and Russia’s Khabib Nurmagomedov was a contest which we all wanted to see.

Arman Tsarukyan, who overpowered Joel Alvarez in his last outing, discussed this match-up post the UFC Vegas 37 event. Russian lightweight claimed that the majority of the Russian fans predicted that the decision would go in favor of Ferguson and not their fellow Russian, Khabib.

But personally, Tsarukyan feels that Ferguson cannot beat Khabib.

According to Tsarukyan, it was Fergusson whom Russia considered better. “You know, I live in Russia… UFC is, I think, number one sport.”

“Everyone, like, watch UFC, and like 70% said Tony Ferguson was going to win—I don’t know why. Tony Ferguson really, like, he has a lot of fans in Russia,” he said.

Another reason fans thought Ferguson vs. Nurmagomedov to be ‘The Match’ was because of the ground game of Ferguson. Khabib had mauled his opponents from his suffocating wrestling and top in class ground-and-pound. His wrestling would have tested against the American.

It is time to let go of expecting this match to become a reality. As Ferguson is struggling to get a title shot and Khabib is now retired and handling the Eagle FC.
