Santiago Ponzinibbio Calls Out Stephen Thomson After UFC Fight Night

Following his sensational win over Miguel Baeza in a three-round scrap, ‘Argentine Dagger’ Santiago Ponzinibbio clearly stated he won’t be resting and will look up for a fight in a brief period. Ponzinibbio opens about his next move in the welterweight division while talking to the media post-fight.
The welterweight division roster is full of many big names, and Ponzinibbio called out specific names that he would like to square off within his upcoming bouts. He promised to put out some exciting fights against the prospect he named in the interview.
Ponzinibbio said, “Maybe end of the August, September I will see man. I really like the back to the rank is that if they gave me a tough guy, you know maybe Vicente Luque, he coming very well. We can do exciting fighting you know, we can do our very fight.”

He added, “Or maybe the guy that loses between Stephen Thompson and Gilbert Burns from the guy they gonna won probably gonna go to the belt right and the guy that lose between them you know he is a really good fight to me to show the world I’m back, I can be champion to the world, I can be in the stay in the best fighters in the world you know for sure I’m gonna do exciting fight again.” (h/t: MMA Junkie)

Santiago Ponzinibbio vs Miguel Baeza
After a career-ending injury and illness, Ponzinibbio returned to the octagon only to be knocked by Li Jingliang. However, this loss did not stop the ‘Argentine Dagger’ to enter the cage again. Ponzinibbio faced Baeza in a three-round bout at the UFC Vegas 28.
Both fighters put up an amazing fight to watch at the event. Even though Ponzinibbio lost the first round, he retaliated quickly in the second and third rounds, emerging victorious via unanimous decision. This his first win since 2018 and he gave Baeza the first loss of his UFC career.
