Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera and Aiemann Zahabi delivered a tense, tactical battle at UFC Vancouver. Over three rounds, both men refused to back down, with momentum building up to a climax filled with leg kicks, combinations, and forward movement. Ultimately, Zahabi emerged victorious with a split decision victory (29-28, 29-28, 28-29). But it didn’t stop there as the younger brother to Tristar Gym’s head coach proceeded to call out none other than ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley himself.

What was the outcome of the callout? A throwback moment to an infamous exchange involving Conor McGregor — a line that made it to the annals of MMA memedom. Let’s dig in.

Sean O’Malley responds promptly

O’Malley, who hasn’t fought since his two back-to-back losses to Merab Dvalishvili, in return, didn’t waste time responding to the callout. “Reaction to Aiemann Zahabi calling me out,” O’Malley captioned the post, sharing a clip of Zahabi’s callout on X. In the video, the Canadian fighter can be seen talking to UFC legend Daniel Cormier after his fight on a TV screen.

Zahabi said, “Sean O’Malley next, baby.” Meanwhile, O’Malley’s clip shows the camera panning to the ‘Suga,’ who had a confused look on his face. He mockingly looked at the TV screen and back at the camera a couple of times to mock Zahabi, suggesting he didn’t even know who Zahabi was before breaking into laughter.

Immediately after, the reaction from O’Malley gave fans flashbacks of Conor McGregor’s one-liner.

Conor McGregor roped into the mix

McGregor delivered the legendary line “Who the f—k is that guy?” during the UFC 205 pre-fight press conference in New York City. One user used McGregor’s famous line to describe the situation. “Ripe for a ‘who the f—k is that guy,’” the user commented. But can Sean O’Malley, like McGregor, beat Zahabi?

Another user had the same idea, as the user shared a GIF of the same McGregor meme. “Who the f—k is that guy?” the user’s GIF said. Now, it would be interesting to see who O’Malley ends up fighting next.

Someone else speculated the reason behind the callout. “Aiemann must have gotten hit too hard lol,” the user wrote. O’Malley is currently ranked No. 1 in the bantamweight division after his two losses; perhaps it won’t be the worst idea for a fight between them.

The next user suggested that Sean O’Malley didn’t know who Zahabi was. The user shared a GIF with the caption, “I don’t even know who you are.” Clearly, O’Malley knows who Zahabi is now. After all, Zahabi secured a win over a UFC veteran.

Meanwhile, this user suggested O’Malley has to fight someone. “Gotta fight someone. Dana gravy train is over,” the user commented. Currently, it’s unclear who the 30-year-old will fight next.

Fans might not be too thrilled with the idea of Sean O’Malley fighting Aiemann Zahabi, but O’Malley’s potential return to the Octagon must be enticing. Would you like to see this fight?
