The biggest UFC fight ever may not remain at the top of the list forever, but the rivalry between the contenders Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov may never be replicated. The sheer animosity between the two biggest superstars that MMA has ever produced made for an amazing one-off battle with ‘The Eagle’ coming out on top. This begs whether McGregor would have ever been able to grab a win for himself if they ever fought again.

Well, it seems like bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley, who’s more than qualified to give us a proper answer, gave his verdict on this matter. Conor McGregor may not like what he had to say, but ‘Suga’ believes that the Irishman has no chance against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Sean O’Malley claims Khabib Nurmagomedov is “a tricky” fighter for Conor McGregor

Although Conor McGregor hasn’t had the best of records in the last few UFC fights, he’s still one of the best fighters ever, which he proved with his simultaneous two-division championship win. Moreover, he’s the only other fighter besides Justin Gaethje to have won a round against Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, Sean O’Malley believes that ‘The Eagle’s fighting style could pose some serious threats to McGregor.

No [Conor cannot beat Nurmagomedov]… I don’t know if he’s too good… Style is a big thing,” Sean O’Malley told ‘Red Corner MMA’. Meanwhile, he also brought up the same opinion that Dana White had that Khabib Nurmagomedov should have fought a bit more. That would have unquestionably ended the debate of whether he’s the best or not.

Nevertheless, O’Malley still believes that there’s hardly any way he’d ever lose to Conor McGregor after witnessing how their last fight ended. “Khabib could have fought a lot more people, like [to] really establish that dominance… So, it’s hard to say if Khabib’s just that good or if it’s just those guys, matching up. It’s just a tricky fight for Conor,” Sean O’Malley added.

While he ended this debate between Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov, Sean O’Malley started another a few days back. The bantamweight champion boldly claimed that even he could beat ‘The Notorious’.

‘Suga’ believes he can defeat the former double-champion

During a discussion in a video on his YouTube channel, Sean O’Malley boldly claimed that he’s got all the tools to beat Conor McGregor. While it’s actually what most fighters do just to get some attention, by taking a jibe at the Irishman, ‘Suga’ appeared to be rather serious when he stated that. Although he claims that McGregor won’t be “an easy fight,” he’s still going to edge past him.

“I do believe I could beat Conor in a fight and I’m not just saying that. I think stylistically I could beat Conor in a fight. Not an easy fight but I wouldn’t call out someone if I didn’t think I could beat them in a fight. I think I beat Conor in a fight,” Sean O’Malley stated. Now, there’s hardly a chance that we’ll get to see Conor McGregor fighting ‘Suga’ since even his comeback fight is uncertain at the moment.
