In one episode of his podcast, ‘The Suga Show’, O’Malley stated that ‘The Diamond’ made the right choice at UFC 269, “Dude if someone has a choke locked up around your neck, going to sleep ain’t gonna prove anything. “If there’s a 0.1% that you’ll get out, try to get out maybe. But if there’s 0% when someone locked; Charles Oliveira’s locked up around your neck – I am tapping too,” O’Malley clarified.

“You know, I would rather fight with less attention on the card.” “I would rather fight like on a non-Conor card, because no matter what even if I go out there and perform beautifully, and Conor breaks his foot or whatever, all the ESPN, Sports Center, everything’s going to pick up Conor. So, for me, I’d prefer to be on a smaller card as far as basically not Conor. I feel like everybody else I am bigger than”
